According to the statement made by Minister Göktaş, restrictions will be implemented targeting certain design features on social media platforms that increase screen addiction in children and youth. With these regulations covering users in the 15-18 age group, it is planned to change some of the habitual operations on the platforms.
Within the scope of the announced measures, practices such as removing infinite scrolling and content looping features, preventing screen recording, and preventing live streaming come to the fore. In addition, allowing only followed accounts to send messages in the messaging area and turning off read receipts are among the planned measures. Göktaş emphasized that steps to prevent children from being continuously exposed to advertisements are also part of this plan.
