Statement from Sanliurfa Provincial Health Directorate Regarding Hospital Incident

The Sanliurfa Provincial Health Directorate published an official statement regarding the events alleged by DEM Party MP Ferit Senyasar to have taken place at the Haliliye Annex of the Mehmet Akif Inan Training and Research Hospital.

DEM Party Sanliurfa MP Ferit Senyasar had claimed that there had been no doctors in the Neurology and Cardiology units at the hospital for 10 days, that patients were left in the care of nurses, and that a patient's mother was beaten. Senyasar noted that the patient was removed by their own means and called on the Ministry of Health.

The Sanliurfa Provincial Health Directorate, on the other hand, stated that the patient had been monitored since October 10, 2026, that discharge was not deemed appropriate by the physician, and that a treatment alternative in the main building was offered. The statement indicated that the patient's relatives harmed security personnel and public property while attempting to remove the patient without authorization, and that judicial and administrative proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident.
