Statement on Fund Liquidations from Cevdet Yılmaz: Regular Processes Are Carried Out Rapidly

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made statements on his social media account regarding fund liquidations in capital markets. Yılmaz noted that regular liquidations are carried out rapidly, and that legal regulations for extraordinary liquidations are on the agenda of Parliament.

In his statement regarding fund liquidation processes, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz expressed that capital markets will continue on their way more strongly once the problems that recently emerged in certain funds are overcome. Stating that the Fund Coordination Council, which he chairs, is working intensively, Yılmaz conveyed that administrative and judicial measures are being implemented in coordination in problematic areas.

Yılmaz emphasized that it is wrong for the measures taken against abusers and manipulators to cast suspicion on all capital markets and healthily functioning funds. Noting that more than ninety percent of the funds forming the market operate in compliance with the rules, Yılmaz stated that those who engage in unlawful transactions will bear the consequences, and that protecting rule-abiding participants and investor rights is a shared responsibility.
