Statement on Pensions from Minister Işıkhan: Work Will Conclude in January

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated that budget resources have been allocated and alternative studies have been initiated within the scope of the 2027 salary adjustment for 17 million 100 thousand retirees. It was stated that technical preparations will be finalized in January 2027 before inflation data is announced, and the welfare share will also be included in the calculations.

Meeting with Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, Minister Vedat Işıkhan conveyed that resources have been allocated from the budget for the new regulation covering 17 million 100 thousand retirees and that the welfare share will be added to the calculations. Following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's message after the Cabinet meeting, the economic management took action and accelerated its work.

Regulations regarding pensions were addressed at the Economic Coordination Council meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, with the participation of Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek and Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan. Emphasizing that resources had been allocated in advance for this issue in the 2027 budget debated in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Minister Işıkhan reported that the prepared alternatives will be submitted to President Erdoğan for evaluation after they are completed.
