Özlem Öz's Instagram account closed after sharing circumcision video

Due to the circumcision video shared by Özlem Öz, access to the content was blocked upon the Ministry's request and a court decision, after which it was observed that Öz's Instagram account could not be accessed.

The statement noted that the Ministry requested the removal of the content and access blocking pursuant to Law No. 5651 due to the posts in question, and the relevant court accepted the request. In the Ministry's petition, it was emphasized that transforming children's developmental processes and moments regarding their private lives into social media content from the very first day they are born poses serious risks in terms of the privacy of private life and personal rights. It was stated that parental custody rights do not grant parents unlimited authority to dispose of their children's private lives and bodily privacy, and that the best interest of the child must be observed in the exercise of this right. It was recorded that parental consent does not make privacy-violating posts lawful.

Stating that protecting children's privacy in digital environments is the responsibility of all parties including parents, content creators, and platforms, it was reported that the Ministry will continue to resolutely take necessary legal and administrative measures based on the best interests of children. Following these developments, it was seen that Öz's social media account could not be accessed.
