Trump's Truth Social Sees 30% Traffic Crash Ahead Of US Midterm Elections

Truth Social, the social media platform owned by US President Donald Trump, faced a major decline in user traffic despite heavy posting activity as the 2026 midterm elections approach. According to Similarweb data, the platform's daily traffic decreased by more than 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

Decline in Traffic Data

According to a digital intelligence report prepared by Similarweb, the engagement rate on the platform showed a sharp drop over the past year. Falling to an average of 260,000 daily users last month, the platform moved away from its peak of 420,000 users in June 2025.

Trump's Posts

Donald Trump, who has the most followers on the platform, continues to use it as his primary personal communication channel. Although he sometimes provides a heavy flow of content, such as 25 posts within a few hours, this has not been sufficient to ensure sustainable audience growth.

Shared Content

Trump announces his new policies, military actions related to the Iran war, and artificial intelligence videos through the platform. Within the past week, he has shared semiconductor investments and media reports in his favor, as well as a video about a tiger attacking a man in Britain.

Company Statements and Financial Situation

In response to the report, a spokesperson for Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. rejected the data and argued that the outlet harbors a systematic media bias against the platform. The company reported a net loss of over $405 million in the first quarter of this year due to losses stemming from digital assets and stock compensation.
