Transfer Statement from Sergen Yalçın: We Saw the Rubbish Now
Former Beşiktaş manager Sergen Yalçın responded to criticism by stating that the accuracy of the transfers he made while in office was seen in the Hoffenheim match.
Appearing on a YouTube channel, former Beşiktaş manager Sergen Yalçın defended that the accuracy of the transfers he made during his tenure became evident with the performances in the Hoffenheim match.
Being a guest on the KAFA Sports YouTube channel, Sergen Yalçın stated that the best four players on the field were Agbadou, Murillo, Junior Olaitan, and Oh, indicating that he and his team made the right transfers. Reminding that these players were called "rubbish" after they left their posts, Yalçın used the phrase, "We saw the rubbish now!"
Explaining the background of the transfers, Yalçın stated that they quickly added Amir Murillo to the squad the moment he was excluded from the team at Marseille, and that they signed Junior Olaitan after being impressed by his performance in the match against Göztepe. Saying that he preferred Agbadou because of his high physical power and feet better than a central midfielder, Yalçın said, "Those who bought Musrati for the same money are nowhere to be found now!" He emphasized that they transferred Oh with the expectation that they could sell him for very high figures two years later.
Continuing his statements, Yalçın added that Beşiktaş's worst player in the last two matches was goalkeeper Nübel.
