TRNC Prime Minister Üstel: Turkey's Resolute Stance Gives Us Strength

The Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ünal Üstel, emphasized that Turkey's determined stance regarding the security and sovereign equality of the Turkish Cypriot people is a strong support.

TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel evaluated the messages regarding Cyprus delivered by Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler at the Flag Handover Ceremony of the 2nd Amphibious Marine Infantry Brigade Command held in İskenderun. In a written statement, Üstel noted that Güler's expressions are an indicator of Turkey's strong support for the TRNC.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people are not a minority on the Island but an equal people possessing sovereign rights, Üstel expressed that negotiations lasting over half a century have yielded no results and that a solution relies on the sovereign equality and equal international status of the two states. Touching upon the Greek Cypriot side's obstructions as well, Üstel noted that isolations must come to an end and solidarity with Turkey will continue.
