The Fiscal Transparency Evaluation report published by the IMF revealed the developments Turkey has achieved in the areas of public financial management, budget discipline, and accountability. It was stated that Turkey, which ranks among the top countries out of approximately 40 evaluated, has increased its good practice level from half of the Fiscal Transparency Code principles in 2015 to two-thirds in the current report.

The report emphasized that Turkey's success in fiscal transparency is the result of an institutional transformation that has been ongoing for over 20 years. It was stated that reforms such as the development of fiscal statistics, the implementation of performance-based program budgeting, and the adoption of international public accounting standards have been effective in the progress of public financial management.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated in a post on his social media account that Turkey ranks among the top countries alongside nations such as the United Kingdom, Finland, Ireland, Austria, and Portugal. Şimşek noted that structural reform efforts to further increase fiscal transparency are ongoing.
