Turkey's strategic role discussed at the Development Road Project Conference
At the Development Road Project Conference, global trade crises and alternative corridors were addressed, emphasizing the objective of making Turkey the meeting point for East-West and North-South routes.
At the Development Road Project Conference, the importance of alternative transportation and logistics corridors in response to crises on global trade routes was discussed, and Turkey's strategic position was emphasized.
The importance of alternative transportation and logistics corridors has increased due to blockages in the Suez Canal, ship attacks in the Red Sea, uncertainties in the Strait of Hormuz, and the effects of the Russia-Ukraine War. At the conference, it was stated that the Middle Corridor, Development Road, TRIPP Corridor, and Modern Hijaz Railway Line are complementary projects.
It was expressed that, through infrastructure investments carried out under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey aims to become the meeting point of East-West and North-South trade routes. It was emphasized that Turkey is not merely a transit country, but a strategic center shaping global trade routes.
