Taha Çakmak, General Manager of Türkiye Sigorta and Türkiye Hayat Emeklilik, has been detained again based on new evidence and testimonies obtained within the scope of an investigation into capital markets and fund movements.
According to the latest statements added to the investigation file, it is alleged that Taha Çakmak received a $1 million cash bribe in exchange for transferring Türkiye Sigorta resources to Tera Group funds. The allegations include that Çakmak directed high-volume deposits to Tera funds to obtain illicit gains and purchased Tera Group shares for his personal portfolio in return for these transactions.
Findings in the file claim that Çakmak directed Türkiye Sigorta deposits on the condition that Tera Group would invest in Graintürk shares, and that he obtained personal benefits in an organized manner through these chain transactions. Following his detention, Çakmak is expected to be referred to the prosecutor's office after police procedures.
