Inside the shadowy world of anti-Putin sabotage from within Russia

Two Russian citizens, stating that they secretly worked for Ukraine's military intelligence agency GUR, made rare statements regarding operations targeting military assets and personnel on Russian territory.

Featured in a documentary prepared by independent Polish journalist Marcin Mamon and broadcast by the BBC World Service, an individual named Ivan claimed to have played an insider role in Ukrainian drone attacks on strategic bombers and ammunition factories in Russia. Foma, who lives in exile in Poland, stated that he managed a secret network of volunteers monitoring high-ranking officers targeted by the GUR in Russia. Foma confessed to providing intelligence about Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, who was assassinated in Moscow in December. Ukraine's military intelligence agency GUR confirmed that Ivan and Foma worked for the agency, while the difficulty of independently verifying all details remains.
