Ahead of the upcoming US midterm elections, Ritesh Tandon, the Republican candidate for California's 17th District, has sharply criticized former President Donald Trump's economic and foreign policy choices. In an interview with NDTV World, Tandon claimed that Trump's policies toward Iran have driven up oil and diesel prices, placing a significant economic burden on American families.

Tandon held Trump's policies responsible for high inflation, rising interest rates, and the increase in the cost of living. Tandon, who is running against Democratic opponent Ro Khanna, stated that if elected, he aims to halt this economic trend and bring inflation under control.

The candidate also advocated for immigration policy reform, proposing the removal of country quotas. Tandon argued that the current system puts Indian-origin immigrants at a disadvantage compared to European applicants. Additionally, he leveled criticisms regarding local government practices in California and the wealth accumulation of his opponent, Khanna.
