The General Directorate of Meteorology has published new warnings for the weekend due to dropping temperatures across Turkey. While a yellow code meteorological warning was issued for 17 provinces from Adıyaman to Kilis, agricultural frost danger is expected in a wide area stretching from Marmara to Eastern Anatolia, and heavy downpours and snowfall are expected in the Black Sea region.

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a yellow code warning for a total of 17 provinces, namely Adıyaman, Bingöl, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hakkari, Hatay, Malatya, Mardin, Muş, Siirt, Şanlıurfa, Van, Batman, Şırnak, and Kilis. Authorities asked citizens living in these provinces to follow current forecasts and official warnings. While the cold wave is expected to affect agricultural production, light and occasionally moderate agricultural frost is anticipated starting from the night connecting Saturday to Sunday in the southeastern part of Marmara, Central Anatolia, the interior parts of the Black Sea, the inner Aegean, the interior and high parts of the Mediterranean, and Eastern Anatolia. It was emphasized that farmers should take precautions to protect their crops.

On the other hand, due to the precipitation expected to be effective in the Black Sea Region, warnings were issued for Artvin, Bolu, Kastamonu, Rize, Sinop, Düzce, Bartın, Karabük, and Zonguldak. It was reported that rainfall will range between 50 and 100 kilograms in Rize and northern Artvin, and snow depth in high areas may exceed 20 centimeters. In Western Karadeniz, heavy rainfall is expected in Zonguldak, Sinop, Düzce, northern Kastamonu, and Bartın, while sleet and snow are forecasted in the high parts of Bolu and Karabük. It was stated that heavy precipitation could lead to sudden floods, waterlogging, landslides, icing, and disruptions in transportation.
