74 Detained in Operation Targeting Next-Generation Criminal Organizations in Ankara
A large number of weapons and drugs were seized in an operation targeting suspects who propagated criminal organizations through social media platforms.
Within the scope of the operation coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 74 out of 114 suspects determined to have propagated criminal organizations on social media platforms were detained.
Initiation of the Operation
As part of the efforts coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, action was taken against individuals connected to next-generation criminal organizations.
Identified Suspects
A total of 114 suspects were identified through studies conducted by the teams of the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch.
Social Media Activities
It was determined that the suspects made propaganda in line with the actions of criminal organizations through popular social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
Detention Decisions and Results
While 74 of the 114 suspects against whom detention warrants were issued were captured and detained, it was noted that one suspect was already in prison.
Searches Conducted and Seized Items
During searches carried out at the addresses of the suspects, 9 pistols, 3 pump-action rifles, 2 cutting tools, and 45 narcotic pills were seized.
Course of the Investigation
Law enforcement forces continue their efforts decisively to capture the other suspects for whom detention warrants have been issued.
