76 Criminals Extradited to Turkey in Operations Conducted Across Eight Different Countries
The Ministry of Interior announced that 76 individuals sought internationally and who had fled abroad were captured in eight different countries and brought to Turkey.
According to a statement made by the Ministry of Interior, a total of 76 criminals who had fled abroad and had arrest warrants against them were captured and extradited to Turkey as a result of joint efforts carried out in 8 different countries.
Details of the Operation
The Ministry of Interior announced that an important operation was carried out to capture fugitives located abroad who have arrest warrants against them.
Inter-Institutional Coordination
The efforts carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Justice and the General Directorate of Security, Interpol-Europol Department, were implemented with the contributions of relevant units.
The Departments of KOM, Intelligence, and Combating Narcotic Crimes, along with the units of Combating Cyber Crimes, Public Order, and Counter-Terrorism, supported the operation.
Distribution by Countries
As a result of the ongoing efforts, 61 people were captured in Georgia, 4 in Greece, 4 in Germany, 2 in France, and 2 in the USA.
One suspect each was captured and extradited to Turkey from the United Kingdom, Serbia, and Azerbaijan.
Status of Arrest Warrants
It was stated that 29 of the extradited individuals were sought internationally with a red notice, while 47 were sought at the national level.
International Cooperation
In the ministry's statement, it was emphasized that cooperation with the law enforcement forces of relevant countries continues in order to identify and capture suspects who have fled abroad.
