Access block decision on social media phenomenon Mika Can Raun's accounts
Within the scope of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, accounts belonging to numerous individuals and organizations, including social media phenomenon Mika Can Raun, were blocked from access.
As a result of the extensive investigation and operations launched across 15 provinces centered in Istanbul, legal action was initiated against numerous social media accounts, websites, associations, and businesses.
Launch of the Operation
The 'Family Safe' operation, buttoned upon the instructions of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, caused widespread activity across the country. Simultaneous raids were carried out on numerous addresses within the scope of joint efforts by police and gendarmerie units.
Scope and Provinces
The operation, centered in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Aydin, and Mersin and covering a total of 15 provinces, was carried out at midnight. During this process, security forces seized many digital materials and put them under review.
Individuals and Institutions Subject to Action
Within the framework of the ongoing investigations, legal action was taken against a total of 162 individuals, 9 associations, and 13 businesses. In line with the decisions, various restrictions were applied to the digital channels of the relevant individuals and institutions.
Access Blocks and Decisions
Within the scope of the operation, hundreds of internet addresses and social media accounts belonging to LGBTI+ associations, platforms, media organizations, and various activists were blocked from access. The Istanbul 7th Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided to remove content under 73 headings.
Other Affected Figures
Among the names whose social media accounts were blocked from access and whose content was removed were Mika Can Raun, as well as Enes Hocaoğulları, Yasemin Öz, Ali Erol, Ali Özbaş, and Zeynep Esmeray Özadikti.
Other Names in the Process
Other well-known figures affected by the decision included Buse Kılıçkaya, Şevval Kılıç, Levent Pişkin, Yıldız Tar, İlker Hepkaner, Mert Bell, and Seyhan Arman. Access providers are expected to implement the decisions swiftly.
