Access block imposed on numerous LGBTI+ organizations' and activists' accounts
By decision of the 7th Criminal Judgeship of Peace of Istanbul, access blocks were imposed on the websites KaosGL and Velvele as well as accounts of rights defenders.
According to information shared by the Freedom of Expression Association, websites and social media accounts were targeted by judicial decisions.
Details of the Access Block Decision
By decision of the 7th Criminal Judgeship of Peace of Istanbul, an access block decision was issued for websites operating in the LGBTI+ field and numerous accounts.
Blocked Organizations and Sites
The websites kaosgldernegi.org of the KaosGL Association and velvele.net of Velvele were blocked from access in line with the decision taken.
Targeted Names and Institutions
Within the scope of the decision, lawyers, journalists, actors, and various rights defenders, as well as student clubs and associations, were included.
Status of X and Instagram Accounts
A total of 14 X accounts were made invisible from Turkey, while the access block issued for 11 Instagram accounts has not been implemented yet.
