AI agent security startup AIR raises $50 million in funding
AIR, which audits plugins and skills used by artificial intelligence agents, has emerged from stealth mode by securing a total of $50 million in two seed funding rounds.
Targeting security vulnerabilities that arise as artificial intelligence agents gain increased access to systems, the startup AIR has officially announced its operations by raising a total of $50 million across a two-stage seed investment round.

As companies grant artificial intelligence agents more authority over their systems, a new software supply chain is taking shape around the skills, plugins, and servers utilized by these agents.
Solutions offered by the AIR platform
Founded by Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, both veterans of Israel's Unit 8200 intelligence unit, the startup provides a platform that discovers internal corporate agents and continuously audits their components.
The platform also blocks interactions with software and external sources that fail to meet security criteria, while featuring a marketplace composed of approved plugins and skills.
Two-stage seed investments
The rounds closed in consecutive weeks, with the first providing $10 million led by Sequoia and the second providing $40 million in financing led by Greenoaks.
Swish, Netz, and various angel investors also participated in these funding rounds.
Security risks and customer base
The startup is developing a visibility product and an enforcement layer aimed at solving risks such as content poisoning that can emerge when agents operate autonomously.
The firm states that it already has a customer base of over twenty large enterprises in heavily regulated sectors such as finance and pharmaceuticals.
Areas of use for the new capital
With approximately forty employees, the startup will use the newly secured capital to expand its research team and scale its operations in the US and European markets.
