While traditional ECG devices used for a century can detect heart attacks by measuring the heart rhythm, they could not diagnose heart failure or valve diseases on their own. This situation caused patients to wait months for an echocardiography appointment.
Comprehensive Test Results
In trials conducted on sixty-seven thousand patients in the US, the artificial intelligence successfully identified eighty-one percent of heart failure cases and ninety percent of those with valve disease.
Early Diagnosis and Referral
Although artificial intelligence does not make a direct final diagnosis, it instantly identifies patients at risk, ensuring they are urgently referred for an ultrasound and accelerating the treatment process.
Future Goals and New Technologies
Experts aim to transform this technology into practical devices that healthcare workers can easily carry in the next phase. Additionally, another system that analyzes a five-second video of the face was introduced at the congress.
