AI-Powered Black Hole Film Premieres at Sabancı Space House

Astrophysicist Serdar Utku Kartal, working at the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Science Experiment Center and Sabancı Space House, adapted and voiced ESA's Supermassive Black Holes film into Turkish with the help of generative AI.

AI-Powered Turkish Adaptation Process

Astrophysicist and artificial intelligence expert Serdar Utku Kartal brought the special planetarium production prepared by the European Space Agency into Turkish.

While the original script was translated via generative AI, the voiceover operations were also completed using the same technology.

A First in Turkey

With this project implemented in Eskişehir, a planetarium film with fully AI-supported voiceover has premiered for the first time in Turkey.

Thanks to this work, high-budget foreign productions can be screened in the native language of local visitors without incurring additional costs.

4K Experience on a 14-Meter Dome

The film is projected in 4K resolution onto the 14-meter-wide giant dome of the Sabancı Space House, offering visitors a unique visual feast.

The high resolution, achieved through the combination of a dual-projector and four-lamp system, provides viewers with a sense of depth.

Dissemination of Scientific Content

The project reaches a wide audience in an understandable language regarding the formation and size of supermassive black holes, which are the universe's most mysterious structures.

Viewers following the film from reclining seats can feel as if they are journeying among the stars.
