Scientists from Seoul National University in South Korea worked on a new AI-powered retinal scanning method that examines the back layer of the eye.
It was determined that thanks to this innovative technique developed, individuals' biological aging rate and hidden health risks can be effectively detected.
Scope of the research and testing phase
In the conducted research, the artificial intelligence system trained with approximately 30,000 retinal scans was prepared in detail.
The trained model was successfully tested on about 15,000 different eye scans and the results were analyzed.
Prediction success and margin of error
As a result of the tests performed, it was reported that the artificial intelligence model accurately predicted individuals' actual chronological age with a margin of error of 2.5 to 2.7 years.
