AI-Powered Simulation Enhances Nursing Leadership
A controlled study conducted on senior nursing students revealed that next-generation AI-integrated simulations significantly improve leadership and teamwork skills.
A randomized controlled study examined the positive effects of artificial intelligence-powered adaptive simulations and workforce decision support systems on the leadership and teamwork performance of nursing students.
Background and Objective of the Study
The integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare necessitates the enhancement of decision-making, communication, and clinical reasoning competencies among nurse leaders.
Although traditional simulation training is effective, it generally relies on fixed scenarios with limited adaptability, and new AI-powered systems offer an alternative to this situation.
Methodology and Participant Distribution
The research is a parallel-group study conducted on 130 senior nursing students divided into two groups using a randomized method.
65 of the students were included in the intervention group receiving AI-powered simulation and decision support systems, while the remaining 65 were included in the control group.
Findings and Evaluations Obtained
At the tenth week, students in the intervention group demonstrated a pronounced and major improvement in leadership performance compared to the control group.
Statistically significant increases in team performance and overall self-efficacy levels were also observed in the same group.
