As part of its autumn product update, Airbnb has announced text and voice AI search features, expanded real-world services, and new social sharing tools based on user connections.
New AI-Powered Search Features
The company has added an AI search feature to the platform that allows users to search for properties using text or voice commands. When a search is initiated, the interface displays dynamic filters tailored to user preferences.
For instance, when 'baby' is typed into the search filter, the system automatically presents additional filters such as cribs, playpens, or children's books to the user.
Smart Comparison and Review Summarization
The platform also utilizes AI to highlight relevant features of a property. Users can compare properties on their wish lists with one another through AI-powered summaries and evaluations.
Expanded Daily Living Services
In order to compete with hotels, the company is integrating services such as food and grocery delivery, laundry, baby gear rentals, and ski and boat rentals in select regions into the application.
New Social Connections and Map Features
Travelers can examine the past or future trips of other travelers they are connected with directly on a map. Clicking on a trip reveals where acquaintances stayed and what experiences they sought.
Privacy Preferences and Neighborhood Guides
For users who value their privacy, there is also an option not to share their trips with others. Additionally, Airbnb is making it easier for travelers to explore by creating neighborhood pages based on guest reviews.
