Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Discussed on the First Day of GITEX Ai Türkiye
At the event opening at the Istanbul Expo Center, TÜBİTAK scientists shared supercomputer investments and the BİLGE model.
On the first day of the GITEX Ai Türkiye event starting at the Istanbul Expo Center, TÜBİTAK scientists conveyed Turkey's artificial intelligence ecosystem, supercomputer investments, and the BİLGE foundational language model to participants.
GITEX Ai Türkiye Opens Its Doors
Organized under the auspices of the Presidency Investment and Finance Office and with the strategic partnership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, GITEX Ai Türkiye has started at the Istanbul Expo Center. Investors and tech giants gathered at the event to expand into new markets and develop collaborations.
Supercomputer and EuroHPC JU Investments
TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Director Mehmet Mirat Satoğlu stated that Turkey has been operating a supercomputer under the name TRUBA for 23 years. Satoğlu expressed that they joined EuroHPC JU, established to increase Europe's computing power, in 2019 and became a partner of the MareNostrum 5 supercomputer in Barcelona.
BSC Artificial Intelligence Factory Activities
Feyza Eryol, the Turkey Project Leader of the BSC Artificial Intelligence Factory, conveyed that the center offers technical support, processable datasets, and consultancy services. Eryol noted that the project is one of the first 10 artificial intelligence factories funded in Europe.
BİLGE Turkish Foundational Model
Mehmet Haklıdır, Director of the TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute, emphasized that Turkey's own language and foundational model BİLGE was developed together with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. Haklıdır stated that BİLGE has reached Turkish foundational models featuring different parameter options.
Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence and International Collaborations
Stating that they carry out studies in the fields of trustworthy artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence security, Mehmet Haklıdır expressed that they actively take part in international organizations such as the Global Partnership on AI, the OECD, and UNESCO.
