Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business is preparing students for future industry transformations by adopting artificial intelligence as a core service rather than a secondary amenity.

Positioning Artificial Intelligence as a Core Service

The Hankamer School of Business continues its commitment to incorporating artificial intelligence technologies into the learning process. Dr. Anthony Lapes, associate dean of artificial intelligence and business technology, stated that the faculty has embraced artificial intelligence as a core service rather than a secondary element.

Education and Academic Staff Support

To achieve this goal, the faculty has launched EDUCAUSE-supported artificial intelligence training for faculty members and administrative staff. In collaboration with the university's Academy for Teaching and Learning, intensive courses are offered to instructors on adapting assignments to artificial intelligence.

Safe Sandbox Environments for Students

The technology department has created artificial intelligence sandbox environments where students can interact with different models. This process is supported by newly appointed artificial intelligence peer consultants.

Ethical Values and Responsible Use Awareness

Dr. Anthony Lapes drew attention to the potential benefits and harms of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the university's obligation to teach responsible use. Meanwhile, Dr. Matthew A. Douglas, associate dean of undergraduate programs, has introduced ethical artificial intelligence applications into his supply chain management course.
