Biren Technology Surges with Revenue Growth Reaching Two Thousand Percent
Chinese AI accelerator manufacturer Biren Technology multiplied its revenue following US export restrictions and major competitors exiting the market.
China-based AI chip manufacturer Biren Technology increased its revenue by approximately 2,000 percent in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year.
Impact of US Export Controls
After US companies stopped supplying AI graphics processors to the People's Republic of China due to export control measures, sales for products from domestic manufacturers like Biren Technology began a rapid rise starting in the second half of 2025.
Financial Performance and Revenue Figures
According to Jon Peddie Research data, the company increased its revenue from approximately $8.665 million in the first half of 2025 to $183.9 million in the same period of 2026, recording a year-over-year growth of 1,998 percent.
The company's gross profit rose to $78.552 million with a gross margin of 42.7 percent; however, it reported a net loss of $56.2 million as investments in new products and software continue.
Product Development and Competitiveness
Biren Technology has developed at least three high-end AI graphics processors on paper capable of competing with AMD and Nvidia products, and continues to work on the BR20X, BR30X, and BR31X accelerators.
The company has also built the Birensupa software stack to rival Nvidia's CUDA software and is working on rack-integrated solutions.
Market Position and Scale of Growth
According to TrendForce, the company's total sales for 2025 reached $154.17 million, and its market share in China's AI accelerators remained below 3 percent.
Although the growth rate appears quite impressive, because this increase occurred from a very small base in the first half of 2025, Biren is still a relatively small supplier in absolute terms.
