Clinical Workflows and Features
Thanks to the integration, clinicians can easily access information such as appointment notes, lab results, medications, and specialist documents. The artificial intelligence summarizes this data, helping to review patient history and prepare for future appointments.
Read-Only Access
OpenAI specifically noted that this integration provides only read-only access to health records. The artificial intelligence system does not write any data back to the health records under any circumstances.
Health Public Data Add-on
The company is also introducing a new Health Public Data add-on capable of retrieving information from sources such as ClinicalTrials.gov, CMS Coverage, RxNorm, DailyMed, and PubMed.
Security and Legal Status
OpenAI emphasizes that the artificial intelligence is not suitable for diagnosis or treatment. While tests have shown that the vast majority of responses are safe, previous lawsuits have been filed due to misleading outputs from the system.
