2027-28 Budget Allocation Plan
As part of the 2027-28 budget request, system management is requesting a $100 million grant for software, hardware, cloud services, cybersecurity, and data infrastructure needs.
Training and Innovation Funds
Other items of the request include $40 million for AI professional development efforts and $25 million for the establishment of an AI Innovation Fund.
Supercomputer Partnership
To develop the ecosystem, a supercomputer partnership is planned with UC San Diego, the San Diego Supercomputer Center, and CENIC.
Approval and Legislative Process
In line with this request approved by the board of governors, the system will initiate efforts before the state legislature and the incoming governor.
