Chicago-based medical imaging manufacturer GE HealthCare has added a prominent figure to its team in line with its strategy to grow its artificial intelligence portfolio.

The company selected Rodolphe Katra, who holds PhD and MBA degrees, as the new global head of artificial intelligence for this critical role.

Experience and Past Career

Before joining GE HealthCare, Rodolphe Katra held a similar role within the healthcare technology firm Medtronic.

Katra worked as the global head and vice president of artificial intelligence at Medtronic and brings over twenty-five years of experience in medtech, artificial intelligence, and R&D.

Executive Statement and Strong Infrastructure

GE HealthCare President and CEO Peter J. Arduini announced this significant appointment on the social media platform LinkedIn.

Arduini emphasized that the company already has a strong foundation with 134 FDA-cleared AI-enabled devices.

New Role Structure and Collaboration

In his new position, Rodolphe Katra will report to Taha Kass-Hout, the company's chief science and technology officer.

Katra will also operate in close collaboration with segment teams within GE HealthCare.
