Gia Lai Province Hosts International Science and Climate Events

International events covering topics such as artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and climate finance will be held in Gia Lai from October 7 to 11.

Issues regarding artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and climate change financing will be addressed with the participation of scientists, policymakers, and financial institutions at two international events to be held in Gia Lai from October 7 to 11.

Scope of the International Events

The Science and Technology for Sustainable Development Conference, organized as part of the 22nd Meeting Vietnam program, will take place at ICISE in Gia Lai Province on October 7-8.

The conference is organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts and ICISE in cooperation with the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, under the auspices of relevant ministries and academies.

Participation of Scientists and Experts

More than 100 scientists, technology experts, diplomats, and policymakers from Vietnam and internationally are expected to attend the event.

Topics such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, sustainable chemistry, and exploring the Earth from space will be discussed in seven roundtable sessions.

Nuclear Energy and Energy Transition

The afternoon session on October 8 will focus on nuclear energy and energy transition pathways in rapidly growing economies, using Vietnam as a case study.

Parliamentary and Science Diplomacy Workshop

As part of the Arusha-Quy Nhon joint exchange program, a workshop on parliamentary and science diplomacy in the context of conflict will be organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

This special session, to be held on the afternoon of October 7, will examine the relationship between these two areas of diplomacy and current international issues.

Members of the Scientific Council

The scientific council of the event includes former CERN Director-General Professor Rolf Heuer and artificial intelligence expert Professor Patrick Glauner.

Additionally, the council features prominent figures such as Ambassador Mokhtar Omar and ICISE Director Professor Tran Thanh Van.

Quy Nhon Climate and Transition Dialogue

The two-day Quy Nhon Climate and Transition Dialogue will take place on October 10-11 with the support of the French Development Agency.

In these dialogue sessions, climate issues will be discussed within the context of energy security, trade, public finance, and value chains.
