Google Pics Announced as New AI-Powered Design Tool for Google Workspace Users
Google has launched Google Pics, a new creative design tool focused on artificial intelligence developed for Workspace users.
Google has introduced Google Pics, powered by the Gemini and Nano Banana models, aimed at making it easier for businesses to create and edit professional-grade visuals.
Professional Visual Generation with Google Pics
Google aims to enable businesses to create professional-grade AI visuals with Google Pics, a new suite of creative design tools prepared for Workspace users.
Built on the Gemini and Nano Banana artificial intelligence models, the system grants users much more precise control over prompt-based image creation and editing processes.
Visual Needs of the Business World
In a statement made by Google, it was noted that AI image generation is very popular in individual use but has failed to achieve similar success in the business world.
Companies faced inconsistent results and cumbersome workflows while producing professional visuals for marketing campaigns, client presentations, and product descriptions.
Integration with Workspace Applications
Google Pics is being made available to users as a standalone Workspace application alongside integration with Google Docs and Slides.
Google announced that Drive integration will also be rolled out in the coming weeks, allowing images within documents to be edited directly.
Precise Editing and Advanced Features
Users can generate images from scratch or use descriptive prompts to select objects within an image and change texts.
The tools also offer the ability to upscale images to 2K or 4K resolution, crop them for web, social media, and print, and collaborate as a team.
Alternatives in the Market and Goals
Dedicated creative platforms like Canva and Adobe Express also provide similar features and AI tools to facilitate users' work.
Google Pics aims to eliminate the necessity of being a graphic designer to design posters, flyers, and social media posts.
Rollout Plan
Having met test users following the Google I/O event in May, Google Pics is gradually reaching a broad user base.
This tool is now being distributed to Workspace users on Business and Enterprise plans, as well as individual users with Google AI Pro, Ultra, and Education plans.
