Karaman to Represent Turkey in €1 Million Erasmus+ Project

The VERA project, with a budget of 1 million euros and partnered by the Karaman Provincial Directorate of National Education, has been granted support under Erasmus+. The project aims for the ethical and secure use of artificial intelligence in education.

Aim and Scope of the Project

The Karaman Provincial Directorate of National Education has undertaken a new international project, becoming one of the partners in the VERA project. This initiative, with a total budget of 1 million euros, aims to develop models for the ethical, secure, inclusive, and human-centric use of artificial intelligence technologies in education.

Legal Compliance and Inclusivity

During the project process, artificial intelligence tools will be evaluated from ethical, legal, and pedagogical perspectives. Efforts will be carried out to protect student data and strengthen compliance with the GDPR and the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act.

Innovative Application Tools

Thanks to the Educational AI Sandbox structure, artificial intelligence solutions will be evaluated before being used in schools. Meanwhile, the Teacher AI Design Companion tool will provide support to teachers regarding privacy and security.

Representation of Turkey

In the project partnership, which includes institutions from various European countries, the Karaman Provincial Directorate of National Education will represent Turkey. The Directorate will contribute to the field implementation and testing of the models.
