Anthropic Explains the Role of the Claude Model in R&D Activities
Anthropic reported that Claude leads 26 percent of R&D processes and collaborates with researchers in more than 90 percent of its activities.
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic announced that the Claude model's contribution to R&D activities has increased significantly and that it plays an active role in the majority of processes.
Growing Share in R&D Processes
Increasing its contribution from near-zero levels in February, Claude has come to lead approximately 26 percent of Anthropic's R&D activities.
Non-Autonomous Collaboration
In the statement made by the company, it was stated that Claude does not currently operate completely autonomously in any of its R&D work.
It was noted that in more than 90 percent of the processes, Claude collaborates with researchers or operates at a level where it assumes leadership.
Recursive Self-Improvement Process
It was stated that the rapid increase in Claude's share in R&D may be an indicator of the process expressing artificial intelligence systems developing more advanced models than themselves.
Claude as a Virtual Employee
As of August, alongside human researchers, 30,000 custom Claude software instances are serving in engineering and research fields within the custom AI development systems used internally by the company.
Call for Transparency and Debates
While Anthropic emphasized the importance of transparency by calling on other artificial intelligence companies to publish similar data, debates over slowing down in the industry continue.
