Operation Against Suspects Sharing Action Scenarios on Social Media

In simultaneous operations organized in Istanbul and Sakarya centered in Çorum, 9 suspects under the age of 18, determined to have shared radical content and action scenarios on social media platforms, were detained.

Initiation of the Investigation

Important findings were reached within the scope of the efforts carried out by the teams of the Çorum Provincial Gendarmerie Command Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate.

In these studies, it was determined that suspects under the age of 18 organized under various ideologies on social media platforms.

Dangerous Content Shared

It was determined that the suspects interacted with extremist content in virtual environments and tried to influence wide audiences.

Examinations revealed that these individuals made educational posts on topics such as action scenarios, bomb-making, preparing Molotov cocktails, and using long-barreled weapons.

Simultaneous Operation Process

The button was pressed within the framework of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Çorum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Simultaneous operations were carried out to capture a total of 11 suspects identified in the provinces of Istanbul and Sakarya, centered in Çorum.

Detentions and Confiscated Materials

As a result of the operations organized, 9 of the sought suspects were captured and subjected to detention procedures.

During the searches conducted by security forces at the addresses, digital computers and mobile phones were seized for examination.
