At the annual Skytrax Awards held at The Langham hotel in London, Singapore Airlines was declared the world's best airline for 2026.

Known as the Oscars of the aviation industry, the annual Skytrax Awards brought together global and regional airlines at London's luxury Langham Hotel to celebrate achievements. Airline executives gathered at the ceremony to accept awards across various categories.
The New Holder of the Top Spot: Singapore Airlines
Asia-based airline Singapore Airlines managed to reclaim the title from last year's winner, Qatar Airways. The company has now won this award for the sixth time in its 25-year history.
Achievements in Award History
Singapore Airlines has previously won this prestigious award multiple times, including in 2023, 2018, and throughout the 2000s. As noted by Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted, the award typically remains within an elite group of airlines.
Other Airlines in the Rankings
Following the evaluations, Qatar Airways dropped to second place, while Cathay Pacific Airways, All Nippon Airways, Turkish Airlines, and Emirates rounded out the top six companies.
Status of North America
US carriers were once again absent from the Skytrax list, with Air Canada serving as the sole airline representing North America. British Airways, a winner from past years, failed to secure a spot on this year's list.
