Meta Offers Discount on Data Sharing for New AI Model Muse Spark
Meta is offering a massive cost discount for its Muse Spark model, aimed at running coding and similar agents, to users who contribute to future training processes.
While most AI tools allow users to opt out of sharing data with the model provider to improve future versions, Meta has adopted a different pricing strategy for this process.
Contribution Pricing for the Muse Spark Model
Meta is offering a discount of approximately 95% for the new Muse Spark model in exchange for users sharing their prompts and model outputs to contribute to the development of future models.
Changes in Input and Output Token Costs
Under the standard agreement, 1 million input tokens cost $1.25, whereas under the contributor pricing model, this cost drops to 10 cents.
For output tokens, the standard price is set at $4.25 per million, while the same amount costs only 20 cents under the contribution model.
Efforts to Obtain Training Data
The company had previously encountered certain difficulties in collecting the data necessary for future model training.
An initiative launched earlier in the year aimed at monitoring employees' computer usage drew widespread internal criticism and was halted in June.
Importance of Data for AI Tools
Such user data is of vital importance, particularly in ensuring that agent-based tools operate more efficiently and successfully.
