Maven Robotics Secures $100 Million Investment for Warehouse Automation
Ending its stealth mode, the startup has secured major funding to develop wheeled, dual-armed robot technology focused on mixed palletizing processes.
Aiming to transform warehouse automation, Maven Robotics has emerged from stealth mode with a $100 million investment and announced it is preparing to sign large-scale logistics deals.
Emerging from Stealth with Major Investment
Although Maven Robotics consisted only of a robot drawing and a founding team during its establishment phase, it had managed to secure a major logistics deal with a consumer goods company.
The startup officially ended its stealth phase by receiving a total of $100 million in investment from RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures, and XTX Markets Ventures.
Technical Specifications and Capabilities of the Robots
Moving on wheeled bases, these special robots have the capacity to reach speeds of up to 10 miles per hour and can lift weights of up to 30 kilograms with their two arms.
The primary function of the systems is to manage complex palletizing processes, turning boxed products from various factories into custom pallets for retail stores according to instant demand.
Founding Team and Autonomous Technologies
The company was co-founded by CEO Hamza Derbas, who has a background in automotive engineering and Apple projects, and his brother Khalid Derbas, who serves as the chief financial officer.
The startup utilizes self-driving vehicle development methodologies to continuously train and update its autonomous hardware.
Production Targets and Industrial Strategy
Company management plans to manufacture 250 units of its third-generation robots while simultaneously beginning design work on the fourth-generation platform.
Prioritizing industrial practicality, cost efficiency, and return on investment rather than complex humanoid designs, the startup focuses on the massive palletizing market.
