OpenAI Launches New AI Assistant Dots to Rival Meta's Muse Model
Powered by the GPT-6 Astra model, the always-on assistant Dots has been launched for users with connected applications and cloud computer support.
At its DevDay event, OpenAI announced Dots, an always-on assistant tool developed to rival Meta's Muse artificial intelligence model. Operating on the GPT-6 Astra model, these new assistants run in the background on connected apps, learning user preferences over time.
Key Features of Dots Assistants
Developed by OpenAI, Dots is designed as always-on artificial intelligence assistants that can access a web browser and over 4,000 supported applications via cloud computers.
While users can communicate with Dots through a text-based interface just like messaging, they can also conduct voice calls via ChatGPT from web, desktop, or mobile devices.
Multi-Application Integration
The new assistants can work integrated with Microsoft Teams and Slack, and can carry session contexts across different apps and devices.
For now, users are only allowed to create a single Dot, but the company plans to offer the ability to deploy multiple agents simultaneously in the future.
Customizable Security and Rules
Dots comes with built-in rules for situations where it can act independently, while users can also define custom rules that block specific actions.
Thanks to the automated review feature, assistants can verify whether performed actions comply with security requirements and custom rules.
Use Cases and Access
Developers can benefit from these assistants to test customer feedback or content creators can use them to edit interview transcriptions.
OpenAI announced that it has started rolling out Dots assistants for ChatGPT Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise users.
