OpenAI Reports AGI-Like Features for New Model GPT-6 Astra
OpenAI's new artificial intelligence model, GPT-6 Astra, was likened to an alien mind by the company's chief scientist while alignment challenges were highlighted.
OpenAI announced its latest artificial intelligence model, GPT-6 Astra, stating that the model possesses artificial general intelligence features and is more successful in complex business tasks.
Described as an Alien Mind
OpenAI Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki described the new artificial intelligence model GPT-6 Astra as an ethereal alien mind that was grown rather than engineered.
In a newly published blog post, it was stated that the model has a more abstract and difficult-to-quantify structure compared to traditional large language models.
AGI Debates and Capabilities
While Jensen Huang stated that the model has reached the level of artificial general intelligence, OpenAI claimed to have released its best and most safely aligned model to date.
It was noted that the model is more successful in complex business tasks, safe in terms of agency, and was able to beat the game Portal in a short time.
Performance and Cost Balance
According to Artificial Analysis test results, the Astra model performs at a level of intelligence comparable to Fable 5.1 and holds a more advantageous position in terms of cost per task.
It is stated that the model, which is noted to be better aligned and exhibit higher capability in certain tests compared to past models, constitutes a new milestone in the industry.
