Purpose of the Board's Establishment
Turk Telekom has gone into a new structuring that will strengthen university-industry collaboration in R&D efforts for future communication technologies. The board announced by the company aims to establish regular and two-way contact between academia and the telecommunications world.
Fields of Study
The studies will particularly focus on areas ranging from 6G to AI-powered networks, satellite communications, and quantum technologies. The perspectives of academia and industry will be brought together around the axis of next-generation networks.
Board Members
The board includes six academicians from Turkey and around the world working in the fields of next-generation communication technologies. Prof. Dr. Elif Uysal, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Arslan, Prof. Dr. Berk Canberk, Prof. Dr. Resul Daş, Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata, and Prof. Dr. Halim Yanıkömeroğlu serve on the board.
Patent and Production Targets
Turk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin stated that the company's goal is to make Turkey a technology-producing hub. The company announced that it made 921 patent applications in 2025 and that its total patent applications in the last three years exceeded 2,000.
