Universal Music Group has announced a new artificial intelligence platform that will enable the creation of song remixes and mashups utilizing its licensed music catalog.

New AI-Powered Music Platform

Universal Music Group announced that it has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with ElevenLabs, which specializes in voice and music production, to develop a new artificial intelligence platform.

Thanks to this new platform, users will be able to produce remixes, mashups, and new versions of songs by benefiting from the company's licensed music catalog.

Artist Participation and Industry Agreements

Artists will be able to make their own choices regarding whether or not to participate in this upcoming platform to be launched by Universal Music Group and ElevenLabs.

The record label previously developed an AI music platform with Udio and had also signed similar licensing agreements with Spotify, Nvidia, and Klay.

Future Products and Experiences

The partnership between the two companies will also include the development of additional products in the coming months and years to enrich the fan experience.

ElevenLabs Chief Executive Officer Mati Staniszewski stated that they will enable artists and songwriters to create powerful new experiences for their fans.

Separate Platform Features

While the press release issued did not include details of other possible future products, it emphasized that fair royalty payments would be made.

It was stated that this newly developed artificial intelligence music platform will be kept separate from ElevenLabs' existing Music API and ElevenMusic generator.
