US companies have sought alternative financing due to intense borrowing pressure and rising bond yields in the artificial intelligence sector. A large number of companies, including giants like Amazon and Uber, carried out simultaneous bond issuances in European markets, marking a first in the region's history.

New route in the search for financing

Massive investments in artificial intelligence technologies have left US technology and service companies facing a severe need for borrowing. This situation created supply pressure in the US domestic market, causing bond yields to rise.

Historic day in the European market

Large-scale companies such as Amazon and Uber Technologies entered European markets by issuing bonds denominated in pounds and euros. According to Bloomberg data, so many US-based companies carrying out bond sales in Europe on a single day was recorded as a first in market history.

Search for strategic liquidity

Societe Generale credit strategist Juan Valencia emphasized that it is a rational step for companies to evaluate every source where they can find funds. Valencia stated that the euro market stands as the strongest and most liquid alternative against the US dollar.

Total annual borrowing volume

US-based companies borrowed 149 billion euros in European currencies during the year 2026. This figure was recorded as the second highest annual total of all time following the record broken in 2025.
