The US Department of Justice has decided that the terms "super intelligence" and its abbreviation "SI" should be used in official correspondence and court filings where deemed appropriate, instead of "artificial intelligence" or "AI".

New Terminology Directive

Based on an official memorandum sent to US Department of Justice employees, it was requested that the terminology used in texts be changed.

Within the scope of the guidance, personnel will begin using the designated new expressions in official documents when referring to the technology.

Presidential Executive Order

The terminology change in question is based on an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on September 29.

The issued decree mandates federal agencies to adopt this new naming convention to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Areas of Application

The new policy covers public communications, policy documents, official records, and, where deemed necessary, court filings.

Personnel will prefer the terms "super intelligence" and "SI" in accordance with the regulations instead of the term "artificial intelligence" in these areas.
