Costa Cruises Positions Turkey as a Source Market for the 2027 Season
Costa Cruises announced its 2027 season program at Galataport Istanbul, declaring that Turkey is no longer just a supporting market but has become a source market.
Italian cruise giant Costa Cruises introduced its 2027 season program at a meeting held at Galataport Istanbul. Company officials emphasized that Turkey has now left behind its position as a supporting market and transformed into an important source market.
Emphasis on Istanbul and Izmir for the 2027 Season
Within the scope of its 2027 season program, Costa Cruises announced plans for 28 voyages departing from Istanbul. Stating that European guests want to see Istanbul and İzmir on their routes, officials expressed that these ports are seeing high demand.
The 2026 Season Successfully Completed
The summer season of 2026 was concluded with voyages carried out by the Costa Fortuna ship. Despite visa difficulties, 14 voyages were organized to Istanbul throughout the season, and a total of 3,000 Turkish passengers participated in these tours.
Target of 7,400 Turkish Passengers in 2027
Costa Turkey GSA General Manager Burak Çalışkan stated that they aim to host 7,400 Turkish passengers in the Aegean programs departing from Istanbul in 2027. Together with other programs, a total of 10,000 Turkish passengers are planned to be introduced to cruise travel.
Accessible Luxury Concept and Prices
It was announced that 7-night cruise programs departing from Istanbul have been opened for reservation with prices starting from 599 Euros. Offering full-board accommodation and transfers included, these tours provide an accessible luxury travel opportunity.
Turkey is Now a Source Market
Costa International Markets Director Mirco Vasallo stated that significant growth has been experienced in the Turkish market. Vasallo noted that Turkey has moved out of its position as a supporting market and fully become a source market.
New Technology Infrastructure for Agencies
Costa Turkey provided agencies with ease of end-to-end reservation management through its new B2B system and digital integration infrastructure. Through this, it aims to reach wider audiences from all over Turkey.
Features of the Costa Pacifica Ship
The Costa Pacifica ship, which will come to Turkey in the 2027 season, will serve with 1,504 cabins and a capacity of 3,780 passengers. The ship features numerous restaurants, pools, entertainment areas, and a large SPA center.
