12 Million Lira Funding for Turkish Cinema from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has provided financial resources for new works prepared in various categories to contribute to the development of the cinema industry.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that a total of 12 million 325 thousand liras in support has been granted to 35 projects in the categories of short film, animation, scriptwriting, and project development in order to encourage the production of new works in Turkish cinema.
New Support for the Cinema Industry
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism continues to finance projects in different categories in order to introduce new works to Turkish cinema. Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that they provide resources to increase production in the sector.
Resources Transferred to 35 Projects
It was announced that a total support of 12 million 325 thousand liras was provided for 35 new works prepared in the fields of short film, animation, scriptwriting, and project development. Minister Ersoy stated that they contribute to the projects of filmmakers.
Annual Budget Increased
The total resource allocated by the Ministry to these four areas within the year 2026 reached 20 million 902 thousand 500 liras, representing an increase of approximately 49 percent compared to the previous year.
Total Support Amount
While it was stated that the number of films and development projects supported throughout the year rose to 120, it was reported that the total resource exceeded 315 million liras together with the contributions provided to movie theaters.
