33rd International Muğla Culture and Art Festival Begins
The traditional culture and arts events in Muğla, scheduled to last four days, opened with a ceremony at Menteşe City Square.
Organized jointly by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and the Menteşe Municipality, the 33rd International Muğla Culture and Arts Festival opened its doors with an enthusiastic ceremony held at Menteşe City Square.
Opening Details of the Ceremony
The organization held at Menteşe City Square began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. Afterward, folk dance performances accompanied by local folk songs were presented.
Protocol Participation
Protocol members showed great interest in the opening ceremony at Menteşe City Square. Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras and Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras were also present at the event.
Statements by the Mayor
Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras stated that the festival has been organized since 1984. Emphasizing the critical importance of culture and art in urban life, the mayor stated that various events will take place over four days.

The District Governor of Menteşe stated that this organization holds great importance in terms of passing down culture and art to youth and children. The Governor expressed individual thanks to everyone who contributed.

Opening Events and Concert
Following the speeches, the festival fire was lit and a peace pigeon was released. The first day of the four-day festival continued with a commemoration concert for Neşet Ertaş.
