Fenerbahçe announced that the appeal against the 4-match suspension given to Matteo Guendouzi following the UEFA Champions League play-off round match against Olympique Lyon has been concluded.

According to the official statement made by the Fenerbahçe club, the previously imposed penalty regarding football player Matteo Guendouzi was re-evaluated by the UEFA Appeals Body.
As a result of the club's appeal, the disciplinary committee's decision was modified and an official reduction was made in the total penalty duration.

The suspension penalty, which was previously announced as 4 matches, was reduced to a total of 3 matches following legal initiatives.
In accordance with the new decision, a portion of the suspension penalty regarding the match was subjected to a one-year probationary period.

Football player Matteo Guendouzi was unable to take the field in the match against Roma played on September 10, 2026, during the penalty period.
Following the penalty reduction, the player is expected to feature in the match against Aston Villa to be played on October 14, 2026.
