An Art Journey That Began with Bob Ross's Inspiration
81-year-old Şahinde Ermiş, a mother of four and grandmother of five living in the village of Alancık in Zonguldak, decided to bring her childhood interest in painting to life while struggling for survival after losing her husband 39 years ago.
After watching American painter Bob Ross on television, Ermiş procured supplies from a stationery store and began making oil paintings at home with her own means, developing her talent.
Works Produced in Time Left from Housework
Ermiş improved herself by watching Bob Ross in the time left over from house and garden chores, producing a total of 80 oil paintings over a 22-year period.
The artist opened her first exhibition twenty years ago with forty-four works and today shared a selection consisting of twenty-three works with the audience.

The opening ceremony of Şahinde Ermiş's second exhibition, consisting of twenty-three works, was held with high participation and presented to the appreciation of art lovers.
