A new umbrella for the world of fantasy and subculture: ABRA Association established

The Subculture Depiction, Illustration and Narrative Association (ABRA) has been established to bring together artists, writers and researchers operating in the fields of fantasy fiction and subculture on a common platform. Inspired by Turkish mythology, the association aims to develop creative skills and act with social responsibility principles.

A Comprehensive Collaboration Platform

ABRA aims to create an interdisciplinary interaction space by combining fantasy and speculative narratives that fall outside mainstream culture with visual, literary and digital productions. The association aims to build a strong network among artists, game developers and academics to support the imagination of young people.

Education and Social Responsibility Projects

The association plans to contribute to talent development by organizing workshops in fields such as writing, illustration, TRPG and game development. In addition, establishing fantasy-themed libraries in village schools to ensure children meet with creative narratives is among the primary goals of the association.

Ethical Standards and Green Principles

ABRA aims to develop standards regarding the ethical use of artificial intelligence tools in creative processes. Furthermore, adopting 'Green NGO' principles that reduce the ecological footprint, the association will apply strict rules on issues such as animal welfare, gender equality and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

Founding Staff and Future Plans

Chaired by Devrim Kunter, the management of the association includes figures such as Galip Dursun, Banu Burçin Öztunç, Kevser Şahin and Biğkem Karavus. Completing its official process in August, ABRA will accelerate its activities in September with events such as the Kadıköy Comic Festival and Gaming İstanbul.
